Election program 2026 - 2030
"Say what you do and do what you say."
Living
Aalsmeer and Kudelstaart can grow without losing their character.
FlorAalsmeer Chooses affordable housing and genuine mobility: first-time buyers, families, and seniors must be able to build a future here. Housing allocation must be transparent: a single queue, a single set of rules, and priority only in cases of demonstrable urgency. And where existing space is tight, we will cleverly facilitate additional housing: flexible housing/transition spaces, repurposing vacant buildings, and small-scale transformations of outdated horticultural sites. The housing policy will also have clear, coherent frameworks, providing legal certainty for residents and ensuring peace of mind for the community.
Green and living environment
Green is not just a backdrop; it's cooling, water storage, and health. FlorAalsmeer We're making greening structural, neighborhood by neighborhood: less stone, more shade, well-functioning soil, and well-maintained maintenance. We're linking greening to every maintenance project and are designing paved areas and business parks more intelligently, with trees and water retention. We're taking a practical approach to sustainability: no wind turbines in Aalsmeer/Kudelstaart and no solar farms in scarce open space. We are maximizing our efforts on roofs and paved surfaces, such as large commercial roofs and solar carports in parking lots.
Schiphol and liveability
Flying isn't black and white, but health and quality of life should come first. FlorAalsmeer Focus on clear limits on noise and air quality, and on measures that residents will immediately notice. Where it's necessary to stay within healthy limits, fewer flights should be allowed. Night flights: agreements are agreements, so strict enforcement is essential. We're also making noise and air quality measurement data accessible and understandable, so residents can monitor their own performance. And Schiphol parking should be on private property: more and cheaper parking on private property, and less alternative parking in residential areas.
Traffic and safety
Safe traffic is not a luxury; it is the basis of quality of life. FlorAalsmeer Choose safe school routes, good lighting, clear crossings, and effective enforcement. We're stopping through-traffic through residential and village streets: a ban with license plate exemption for local traffic makes enforcement feasible. In new developments, such as GPA II, we require structural monitoring of traffic flows and firm agreements on logistical discipline and access routes via main roads. We make cycling logical and safe with continuous routes and well-maintained paths. And social safety is paramount: we're taking street intimidation seriously, with reporting centers and visible measures. The N196 is not a testing ground; it must be demonstrably safer.
Living and participating together
In Aalsmeer and Kudelstaart there is a lot of strength in residents, associations and volunteers. FlorAalsmeer This energy is being reinforced: fewer barriers, faster small subsidies, and easier initiatives to launch. Young people are being given space and a real voice: a well-supported youth council, a permanent youth worker, and the preservation of the N201 music center as a cultural and talent center. We are bringing the social domain back to the people: a single point of contact, faster assessments, trust, and personalized care as the norm. Aids and home modifications must be provided on time; prevention is becoming concrete; informal caregivers receive support through a recognizable informal care center and respite care. And for those who get stuck: actively offer independent client support.
Young people
Young people need a place where they can grow, learn and participate. FlorAalsmeerensures continuity: a permanent youth worker, a youth council with guidance, and the preservation of N201 as a cultural and talent center at its current location.
We're bringing the JIP to the library: a single, accessible point for questions about school, work, money, and well-being.
Education
Less travel time, more opportunities nearby. FlorAalsmeer wants to seriously explore, together with school boards and neighboring municipalities, the feasibility of a HAVO/VWO branch in Aalsmeer. This will be done in a practical and step-by-step manner: forecasts, location options, and clear agreements on organization and costs.
Asylum reception and AZC
The shelter Aalsmeer currently provides is well-organized. It's a shelter with complete transparency and strict preconditions: small-scale, manageable, and safe, without additional pressure on the housing market and amenities, and with residents involved from the start. FlorAalsmeeris against additional shelter and against a large-scale asylum seekers' center in Aalsmeer or Kudelstaart.
Economy and tourism
A strong local economy is a means to live and grow up pleasantly.
FlorAalsmeer
Maintains a balance: Aalsmeer is not an overflow area of Amsterdam—full is full when livability, safety, and space come under pressure. We choose businesses that fit: SMEs, horticulturalists, and local makers, not a proliferation of logistics boxes. Migrant workers: welcome, but small-scale and respectable, without massive complexes that dominate neighborhoods. We prioritize quality in tourism and recreation: the Westeinderplassen and the surrounding area remain residents' first and foremost. We keep village centers vibrant by addressing vacant buildings, relaxing regulations where possible, and addressing accessibility and safety (such as crossing the road). Kudelstaart is gaining momentum with a second supermarket: creative searches, smart combinations, and perseverance.
Governance and finance
Good governance is down-to-earth, transparent and predictable. FlorAalsmeer wants every euro to demonstrably contribute to the quality of life in our villages. So: stop spending that yields little and invest in what residents directly notice, with concrete goals and periodic reports. We only collaborate regionally if it's beneficial; the MRA isn't on autopilot. Aalsmeer isn't Amsterdam's backyard or back alley. The council needs to truly lead and oversee again: set clear goals upfront, ask follow-up questions, honor agreements, and honestly explain choices.
Participation gets its teeth into it: early in the process, with regular feedback ("what has been done with it?") and measurement of reach and effect, so that residents are not only heard but also have influence.
